Yay!!! I have made it to the end of my first month! It has been interesting to say the least. I am really keen to keep going, but do feel the need to make each day better than the day before. That’s not possible so I need to relax and just enjoy the journey. I am also at the end of the school holidays (silently waves arms, and jumps up and down) so I am thinking my posts will alter from family and holiday focus to more work and ideas focus.
I have included this shot today purely for one reason. I like it!! I took this with my iPhone a couple of years ago, and still like it just as much now as I did then. Stands to reason though as I have had a love affair with Blythe dolls since I was a child. My Nan gave me one when I was about 5, and I still remember being amazed by its look, and just how different it was from my other dolls. It wasn’t a friendly kids doll it was something else altogether, which it has proved by its recent comeback to the adult market. Jemima wants to play with my two new ones, but they stay out of her reach, on a shelf, just that bit too high for her clutches.
A few years back I saw the same doll I had as a child, on eBay, it was such a bizarre flashback. It sold for $4500!!! I called my mum, but alas she had no idea where mine was.
When my kids were little I used to think it would be a good idea to buy a toy that was huge with kids at the time, keep it mint, in the box, and put it away for 50 years or so and see what it is worth then. A Buzz Lightyear or Polly Pocket might be good choices.
